John A Strauch was born about 1883 in (probably Schuykill) Pennsylvania. He married Edith Wildermuth (the Boss's daughter) who was born in July of 1887. They had 10 children together, Mable S (1908), Lester D (1910), Albert D (1911), Alma M (1912), Meta E (1913), Earl A (1914), Irena E (1916), Alberta (1917), Emert C (1919) and Emerald M (1919). John was a Railroad Engineer for the Reading Railroad, and built their home on Berne Street. Her daughter remembers that she made the best fudge, and great birch beer.

Earl E. Strauch was born in Schuykill Haven, 1914. His first job was a Goodyear stitcher, making baby shoes. He later worked as a fireman on the Reading Railroad (he fed the furnace) with his father. Earl married Helen M. Zajac, and together they had four children: Earl E. Jr, Baron, Linda H. and Elena M. He had been employed by the Parish Division, Dana Corp, in the maintenance department for 30 years before retiring in 1977. Earl passed away on August 11, 1983 at St Joseph Hospital, Reading, PA.

Earl and Helen used to like to go to the hoe downs and square dance. He also used to two-step. He was a very good ice and roller skater.
